Jay Sebring – legendary hairstylist, lady’s man, and at the end, victim of the crime that effectively ended the 1960s. He created the hairstyles that defined Hollywood’s leading men in the 1960s, from Sinatra to McQueen, but after being one of the four ‘others’ murdered with Sharon Tate on that fateful day in 1969 by the Manson Family, his legacy was largely lost. Using extensive archival materials and interviews with family, friends, admirers, and Hollywood legends, we get to see the story of the man in the years that he was a pillar of the Hollywood scene. Jay Sebring…Cutting to the Truth examines what it means when an innovator’s memory becomes entwined, and over-shadowed, by the expansive myth surrounding his murder, and the cult that perpetrated it.
