After his daughter is killed in an accident, Ray (Nicolas Cage) and his wife Maggie (Robin Tunney) attempt to move on by buying a motel in the remote desert. Left with a number of unanswered questions due to the previous owner's sudden disappearance, Ray soon discovers a secret passageway which allows him to see into one of the rooms through a two-way mirror. However, things soon take a turn for the worse when a woman is found murdered, leaving the local sheriff to suspect Ray might have something to do with it. (StudioCanal)

If it didn't lose its breath towards the end and if its culmination wasn't honestly quite boring and predictable, I would rate the film even better, because Cage suited the role of the voyeur quite well. However, it would need a slightly different direction, a slightly different path. Like this, it's more of a good start with a bad ending.
