Brothers Mikey (Johnathon Schaech) and JP (Adrian Grenier) find themselves in very different situations. While JP is the owner of a successful construction company, Mikey has become a petty criminal involved with mobsters and gangs. When Mikey is taken prisoner and held for ransom by crime boss Eddie King (Nicolas Cage) his brother seeks the help of their old friend and detective Sal (John Cusack). I'll be kind, even though Nicolas Cage is really weird here. I don't mean his acting, his performance is good, but his makeup and wig are just extremely strange. As a somewhat action-packed suburban thriller in a more conservative guise, it does work quite well, although I still thought that some of the actors - especially Cusack - were unnecessary here.
