Eugène Green tackles documentary with the same attitude he has with his works of fiction: trying to reveal the spirit behind things, and looking for order and harmony in a chaotic world. The word is the protagonist once again, although more explicitly, in this film about the Basque language and its new (and brand new) speakers. A language that has fought to survive and that links in an identifying bond those who decide to use it in their daily lives. Through new generations of Spanish and French Basques (thirty-year olds, adolescents and children), Green talks about how one lives and breathes in a certain language. Finally, the journey by three adolescents in search of their roots – in the landscape, in the music, in the folklore- guides this immersion in the soul of a language.
