I liked this and it brought back lots of fine memories. Clive is a heavyweight actor, but although Blomkamp tends to be good at them, the chase wasn’t nearly as nail-biting as it could have been. When a shootout during a chase is better than the chase itself, something has to be wrong. I would love it if they put the next Hire into the hands of Michael Mann.

I admit I haven’t seen the previous installments of The Hire series, but after watching this entry, I’ll have to sit down and catch up. I agree with most that this deserves a full-length film because Clive Owen behind the wheel looks like quite the badass. Jon Bernthal appears again in the role of an antagonist, and he’s becoming more and more likable to me. A lot happens in just 14 minutes; I could sense a considerable budget from the start. Many American films would envy the scene with the helicopter. I think all the executives at BMW must be thrilled, as such advertising will definitely earn the brand some extra points. I give it 80%.
