'It's not hard losing oneself in imagination and dreams; it's hard returning to reality. I'm not risking my body but my mind, as each time a piece of me stays behind,' says Karen about her dressage experience. She is not the rider, but the horse. The 50-year-old former teacher and father of an adult daughter is looking for the path to inner freedom through various forms of bondage and disguise. Creative camera work and an arresting soundtrack help Jérôme Clément-Wilz create a disturbing, melancholy film reflecting on entity, mortality, the bounds of humanity and the feeling that love is unattainable.
