English A statuesque Charlize Theron, the Cold War coming to a head, a neo-retro look, atmospheric Berlin, lesbian romance, secret services... all this and more in Antony Johnston's adaptation of the comic "The Coldest City." This is the first movie to have an 1980s soundtrack and it’s about James Bond in skirts. That floored me. ()

English Basically, I completely agree with what Ruprechtos wrote: Leitch knows how to put together and shoot creative action sequences and deliver a decent retro feel, but he can't develop the spy plot in a way that surprises the viewer or piques their curiosity. If it wasn't for the very hot Charlize, it’d be a very big dud with one physically exhausting action scene without editing that stands out as the only really bright element, even if it doesn't quite fit the established style – at least the lesbian scene still stands out. That's damn little from the director of the second Deadpool. ()

English Little was missing for me to be absolutely thrilled. I finally got to see a full-fledged action movie again, complete with a cool retro atmosphere of divided Berlin and an even better 80s soundtrack. As usual, I had a problem with the fact that the difference in weight had no effect on the fighting and the incredible stamina of everyone involved, but other than that, I have no major complaints. I had a really good time. ()

English Action goddess Charlize Theron in a spy action thriller. If I were to compare this film to John Wick, Wick is obviously closer to my heart, Atomic Blonde slightly lacks drive and the plot isn't entertaining and gripping enough to glue the viewer to their seat, yet there are scenes that will make me remember it. Definitely worth mentioning are the fights, of which there are quite a few and all of them are properly gritty and perfectly shot (the highlight being a 10 minute action scene in a building culminating in a car chase that had the whole cinema holding their breath). Also nice, especially for men, is Sofia Boutella, who has a passionate fling with Charlize Theron, seeing two beautiful actresses in bed will please any film fan. All in all, an enjoyable action ride that slightly lacks pace and disappoints with a weaker script, but the action makes it definitely worth seeing. 75% ()

English Willpower alone holds it together, but thanks to Charlize it works. That woman has character, whether verbally destroying McAvoy or licking Sophie “The Mummy" Boutella. Well-planned action, even if a little less ferocious than in Wick and it seems the best uncut scene of the year. The comic-book style also suits the genre of espionage. A shame that the director didn’t stick it together better. I look forward to visiting Berlin. ()
