Plots(1)

In Vladimir Tulkin's version of lord of the flies, Beelzebub is a colourful and highly original bearded old man, Savaofa. He introduces himself as the inventor of the 'fly throne', a trough filled with bait that attracts millions of flies, which in their turn lay eggs. Savaofa boils, pickles the larvae, which are then fed to the birds at his 'bird farm'. The hero works, provides and reigns supreme in his world and makes the animals happy. Not without encouragement from the director, he muses incessantly about biosocial utopian subjects and teaches Michael Gorbatchev how to run his all-Union farmstead.
