Winnipesaukee (2021) (S05E09)

English This is the first time that I'm actually glad the show will be wrapping up with the next episode. What started as an enjoyable series now feels like the creators have lost their way. There's been a noticeable shift, with dynamics replaced by dull filler, and the decision to split the crew members into separate storylines hasn't been a happy one. ()

Nemesis Games (2021) (S05E10)

English The finale of the fifth season finally delivered some action. However, I still felt a bit queasy from the relentless attempts to tug at the heartstrings of viewers who might not yet be adequately desensitized to reality (and thus emotionally accessible). ()

Season 6 (2021) (S06)

English The fifth season left me quite disappointed, so I approached the sixth season with a lot of apprehension. Imagine my delight when I found out that my worries were completely unnecessary. The show returned to the good old Expanse that I loved. It felt like a nice farewell to one of the few really good sci-fi shows out there. If only the protomolecule, which was the original core of the story, hadn't almost completely disappeared from the script, it would have earned five stars from me. / Lesson learned: Overcapacity is one of the biggest problems of the human species. ()

Strange Dogs (2021) (S06E01)

English It's been nearly three years since my last visit to Rocinante, mainly because I was put off by the plot in the latter half of the fifth season. However, the start of the sixth season pleasantly surprised me. This time, the creators didn't dwell too much on relationship issues, although the teenager did annoy me a bit. I can only hope this trend continues until the finale. / Lesson learned: When a screwdriver doesn't do the trick, reach for the hammer. ()

Azure Dragon (2021) (S06E02)

English I must say, I'm a satisfied viewer so far. Sure, there were some discussions, but they felt on point, so it didn't seem like the creators were just trying to fill the runtime with irrelevant chatter. My only gripe would be with the storyline involving the teenager, whom I find pretty annoying. Other than that, I had a good time with the crew of Rocinante. / Lesson learned: If you're wearing a spacesuit, breathing apparatus, or even just a respirator, try your best not to vomit. ()

Force Projection (2021) (S06E03)

English If it weren't for that deactivated torpedo, I might've nudged it up to a weaker five-star rating, but that thing left a bad taste. The episode was a mix of stellar and lackluster moments, but overall, it hit the mark for me. We got a taste of the good old Lunatic Fringe again, which is my favorite part of the series (ironically, there's less of it here), and it seems like the creators are trying to right the wrongs from the previous season. / Lesson learned: Dictators usually aren't open to alternative viewpoints. ()

Redoubt (2021) (S06E04)

English It was one of those episodes that typically comes after an action-packed one. There was the usual recap, repairs were made, and personnel changes occurred — the usual standard. However, it was bogged down by the philosophizing about Holden's decision. I was about to give it three stars, but then Camina Drummer entered the plot, putting me in a better mood and increasing my rating to four stars. / Lesson learned: One hand does not clap. ()

Why We Fight (2022) (S06E05)

English The sixth season maintains its consistent quality, without any major ups or downs. While I didn't come across any standout episodes, what's more crucial to me is the absence of any catastrophic drops in quality. The penultimate episode, though not heavy on fights in vacuum except for one exception, delivered plenty of dialogue that was both substantive and engaging, without resorting to emotional manipulation or filler. / Lesson learned: Lost a limb? Just let it grow back, lizard. ()

Babylon's Ashes (2022) (S06E06)

English A fitting conclusion to the series. It had a little bit of everything: gunfights in space, a satisfying redistribution of power, even a bit of nostalgia (thankfully not overdone), and I thoroughly enjoyed it all. I suppose a four-star rating would have sufficed, but considering how easily the creators could have mishandled it, I felt compelled to give five. / Lesson learned: I've said it before, but I have to say it again. Watch out for the monkey's paw! ()
