Ash vs Evil Dead

While this year with horror movies seems to be the weakest, horror series are going full throttle. American Horror Story - Hotel was great, Scream Queens was passable, and now Ash vs Evil Dead is going to roll, hitting everyone with its pilot. While the remake of Evil Dead took a very brutal, raw, and dirty direction that was unfortunately torn down by critics for not including humour. I am, however, glad that the series and the remake are each in a different style and both are perfect. I hope the haters are tapping their foreheads at the moment, because who wants to watch the same thing twice right? Bruce Campbell is in superb form here and at 57 years old has no problem fucking a hot chick in the toilet, cackling like a teenager and mowing down demons in a pool of blood. This is the kind of ultra-brutal and funny whiplash the horror genre acutely needed. I also praise the make-up effects of the demons, and I'd have gone solo with the reanimated doll. Hopefully the rest of the episodes will maintain a similar high bar, so far excessive satisfaction and near orgasm. (It’s interesting that suddenly no one minds slow motion .. Lawless' presence on Ash vs Evil Dead couldn't have generated more excitement, and not just among Starz viewers. Lucy and Bruce Campbell's long-running acting relationship has been enticing since the days of Xena. There’s so much to be happy about here: the whole old Renaissance Pictures team is back together, Joe LoDuca is doing the music, Michael Hurst is directing, with Tapert and Raimi producing. However, the format is tricky, and having ten half-hour episodes in a series isn't quite right. So instead of waiting, I recommend three marathons and your final experience will only be better.
