English The only reason why I’m not giving this a “Boo” this time is Kate Beckinsale, who is fighting a losing battle with the script, direction, logic, and the like. She stubbornly refuses to give up and I can’t help rooting for her in her desperate attempts. Everything else is a sheer disaster, including Theo James's performance, a vampire get-together that looks like a typical German swingers party, vampire Valkyries, and, wait for it, vampire mirror reflections. English I was about to say that this is the final chapter, but now I know we’ll be getting at least one more addition to this saga. Based on the critical reviews here, I had really low expectations for Blood Wars, but the result turned out well. It’s nothing groundbreaking (though that could be said about all the installments), but the plot was decent, and the action scenes were once again enjoyable to watch. You might notice the word "wars" in the title, but don’t expect some huge battlefield chaos—the title is a bit misleading. Some might think the fight between the lycans and vampires is fully played out, but I personally don’t feel the series has become stale. The story was fairly well done, and I didn’t find any major flaws in the script that would undermine the film, which is, of course, a good sign. The plot isn’t complex; it’s flat, but for films of this type, that’s to be expected. From a technical standpoint, there’s not much to criticize—maybe just that I would have made the action a bit clearer, as it sometimes felt a bit chaotic. We’ll see what the sixth film brings. I give it 63%. ()

English Chaos and mayhem with the ever-so-attractive Kate Beckinsale, who unfortunately has nothing to work with, so she only looks good. The Prague locations will please any local, but the creators didn't get much out of it except for some panoramas of the city and the Hluboká palace. There is little to say about the atmosphere and build-up of the plot, and the whole thing is very dull and repetitive in the same patterns of intrigue and twists. I sincerely hope this is the last installment of the series, because I'm still searching in vain for that original and somewhat Matrix-like style from the first one. ()

English The film Underworld: Blood Wars tries to get you excited about the action, but it's just boring. It's too full of special effects, too slow-motioned, and there isn't actually a single scene that would truly stick in your memory. Yes, it's very bloody in places, but that's just to get you out of the horrible boredom. It didn't work out so well for me. Underworld: Blood Wars is a big disappointment for me, and I hope that the hints of a sixth episode that were in the ending are not confirmed. ()

English My first – and probably last – Underworld. Because apart from the beautiful Prague and Selene, who I just have to admire even as a woman, there wasn't really anything to watch. The film is completely lacking in any kind of suspense, so it was not at all easy to keep my mind on the film. I wouldn't even rate the action scenes as above average. In short, if I wasn't in the theater I probably wouldn't have watched it. 1.5 stars ()
