When David Raskin (Jonny Weston) finds a video recording of his seventh birthday he makes a shocking discovery. Realising that he had been a guest at his own birthday party, but as his future self, he finds a part-built temporal relocation prototype in his father's workshop and sets about completing the time machine. After David and his friends make their first attempt at time travel they begin to realise the possibilities that lie ahead of them. Using their knowledge of the future to get girls to notice them, score points against high school bullies and find out the winning lottery numbers, the group begin to notice the adverse effects of their actions and try to figure out exactly what they have created. English Surprisingly, it's not as bad as I thought, although "realistic" movies with a handheld camera just aren't something that can excite me. Quite the opposite. You watch a lot of unnecessary scenes in the first half of the movie, mainly to appeal to the young audience, but then you can also see an effort to convey some kind of idea. The functioning of causality is not perfect, but the effort counts in this case. ()
