It’s the closing stages of WWII, and Sergeant Dolokhov a member of Russia’s elite Special Forces, is leading his men in an ambush on a German convoy in Eastern Europe. Unearthing some ghastly intelligence, their victory is only short lived as they are taken prisoner. Transported to a secret underground laboratory where the most horrifying experiments are under way, they are introduced to the latest secret Nazi weapon - an army of the undead. Outpost: Rise of the Spetsnaz is, like the second installment, mediocre. The best in the series is definitely the first one, which was worth it and had that necessary punch, making it quite gritty and powerful. The third installment is just a mishmash that has some interesting characters but doesn't utilize them for anything better, instead just going with the classic "evil Germans, poor everyone else" trope. But even the experiments are not groundbreaking. Now and then, though, you'll come across some brutality.
