Brooklyn Nine-Nine (2013)

English I'm writing my review after five seasons. Three of them were, despite some shortcomings, funny enough for me to enjoy them. From the fourth season on, the quality began to drop and some episodes of the fifth season were even downright boring. However, the writers also managed to provide a massive surprise - they created a gay character who isn’t constantly crying bitterly over his fate but was so great that he instantly became one of my favorites (alongside Rosa Diaz, Hitchcock and Scully). I liked other characters, too, but they started getting on my nerves over time (Charles, Terry). ()

Season 1 (2013) (S01)

English My impressions after watching the first season are mostly positive. The only thing that bothered me was that some of the episodes were rather weak. After a really long time, I found a gay character who I didn’t have an issue with - Captain Holt and his unreadable expression belongs to one of this season’s assets. It was great relaxing fun and I'll gladly watch the next season. ()

Pilot (2013) (S01E01)

English I didn't laugh my head off during the pilot episode, but I laughed more often than I expected. I thought the humor would be much weaker and often fall into cringeworthy territory. Although there were a few awkward moments, I was mostly satisfied. When the sergeant introduced Holt to the various detectives, I was in stitches. / "Just go on the internet and search for the phrase “I want to buy two movie tickets for a girl who doesn’t like me.”" ()

The Tagger (2013) (S01E02)

English The second episode was noticeably weaker than the pilot, though it still had its moments. The humor felt heavier this time, and Jake Peralta annoys me in the same way J.D. Dorian does in Scrubs. / "Here are two pictures. One is your locker, the other is a garbage dump in the Philippines. Can you tell which is which?" ()

The Slump (2013) (S01E03)

English After the pilot, I praised the creators for the well-done humor that didn't fall into cringeworthy territory. The second episode dampened my enthusiasm a bit, and now I feel like the show is heading exactly where I initially expected. The fun is starting to fade as the humor noticeably weakens. 3*- / "No hard feelings but i hate you. Not joking. Bye." ()

M.E. Time (2013) (S01E04)

English Thanks to the new medical examiner and her fascinating perversion, I could bump up my rating again. After four episodes, I also have my favorite characters. Charles Boyle and Rosa Diaz clearly lead the pack for me — I usually laugh the most with those two. / "Oh, sorry, I forgot who I was talking to. Sex is something that two adults do with their bodies when they're attracted to each other." "He's right, Santiago. Do you not know that?" ()

The Vulture (2013) (S01E05)

English The main storyline wasn't bad at all, but to be honest, I had way more fun watching Sergeant Jeffords overcome his mental block. The creators seem to have decided to step up the quality. / "Fine. But in protest, I'm walking over there extremely slowly." ()

Halloween (2013) (S01E06)

English In other shows, I've come to expect Halloween episodes to be some of the best, but that wasn't the case here. The teamwork was great, but overall, I think the creators missed the chance for a really wild episode. / "We're having the best time. Right, Amy?" "I wish I was dead." ()

48 Hours (2013) (S01E07)

English The seventh episode hit the mark for me. The brutal weekend overtime was hilarious, with Sergeant Jeffords and his sleep deprivation stealing the show. / "You slept in your office, and you look exactly the same. How?" "What are you talking about? My hair is a mess." ()

Old School (2013) (S01E08)

English The previous episode was great, and this one definitely kept up the momentum. Stacy Keach clearly enjoyed playing Jimmy Brogan, and I had a blast with his storyline and Rosa Diaz preparing for her court testimony. It was spot-on. / "I'm sorry... can you make her stop doing that weird thing with her face?" "Crying?" ()

Sal's Pizza (2013) (S01E09)

English This time, the plot felt noticeably weaker. Maybe it's just me, but the storyline centered around the rivalry between the cops and firefighters didn't do much for me. The subplot with Amy and Rosa didn't help either. The only saving grace was Charles the foodie. 3*- / "Stop hitting them, kicking them will hurt more!" ()

Thanksgiving (2013) (S01E10)

English Now that's what I call a quality jump. While the previous episode almost bored me, this one was nearly perfect with Amy's Thanksgiving. I was choking with laughter at hungry Sergeant Jeffords, and Charles Boyle didn't disappoint either. A great episode that was just shy of five stars. 4*+ / "$10 to play." "Oh, we're just looking around." "$40 just to look around." "All right, we'll play." "$15 to play" ()

Christmas (2013) (S01E11)

English The only entertaining part was Sergeant Jeffords' visit to the psychologist. The rest of the eleventh episode was unexpectedly dull. / "Okay, let's switch gears, do a little word association. What do you think of when I say the word "bottle"?" "Liquor store, holdup, gun, die." ()

Pontiac Bandit (2014) (S01E12)

English Slightly better than the previous episode, but it didn't exactly blow my mind. While I found Charles' recovery care amusing, it wasn't enough to carry the entire episode. The storyline with the identity/Pontiac thief didn't interest me at all. Overall, it was just okay. 2*+ / "You know, the doctor said that if the bullet Was two millimeters to the left And a foot higher, I might never have walked again." ()

The Bet (2014) (S01E13)

English I don't get it — if the creators can make episodes this great, why did the last two bore me? This time, they nailed it, keeping me thoroughly entertained. For the first time, they even made Amy Santiago's character somewhat likable to me. / "Have you seen rosa?" "Rosa died eight years ago." / "Perhaps I should stop talking to your wife." "That's a good call, Captain." / "I'm sad y'all are arresting me, But I gotta say, I'm glad you're back together." ()

The Ebony Falcon (2014) (S01E14)

English Here we go again. After a great episode, we get a weaker one. But this time, I'm keeping the fourth star, hoping things will improve. Plus, Sergeant Jeffords had me laughing as he was right at home in the gym. 4*- / "I'm not talking." "You're talking right now! Boom! I'm already in your head." ()

Operation: Broken Feather (2014) (S01E15)

English Episode 15 wasn't perfect, but it kept me entertained, and that's what counts. It would be great if the quality of future episodes stays at this level. / "We've busted murderers, we've taken down cartels. But today we face the worst New York has to offer-- The fire department." ()

The Party (2014) (S01E16)

English Hmm, it seems to be a pattern: whenever the police work takes a backseat and the gang gathers for a party, I have a blast. This episode was no exception, largely thanks to Sergeant Jeffords. His pre-party and party instructions had me in stitches. / "So may I pour you some of this wine drink you brought us? Perhaps all of it?"  ()

Full Boyle (2014) (S01E17)

English Not as good as the previous episode, but not bad either. I had a pretty good time. Charles Boyle overflowing with confidence was perfect, but Captain Holt's ambitions were a bit of a downer this time. / "All right, here's the plan. I'll text Vivian from your phone, And tell her you want it to be a double date. That way, I can come with you and hold your hand." ()

The Apartment (2014) (S01E18)

English I honestly didn't enjoy this episode much. It felt like the creators ran out of inspiration after delivering a few quality episodes. / He denies even doing it. I don't know why. Next time I catch him shaving, I'm gonna punch him so hard in the mouth he bites his own heart." "Could that be why he denies doing it?" "Oh, yeah, you could be right. Yeah." / "Call an ambulance. I'm gonna do some stuff to him" ()
