There's more than one way to see the future. In the near future, an elite group of private "memory detectives" have the ability to enter people's minds and recall the events in their past that have led to a crime. John Washington (Mark Strong) was once the top investigator in this field, but is now recovering from the death of his wife. He must now take on the case of a troubled teenage girl named Anna (Taissa Farmiga), who is accused of an attempted triple homicide. Such a predictable thriller with a surprising twist. Smarter readers will have correctly judged the previous sentence as an oxymoron… and that’s exactly where the problem is.
