It is the last decade of the 18th century in New Spain. Mexico City is inhabited by local and European residents. In this context, Jerónimo Marani, the court’s choreographer, Giovanni, his mestizo son, and Victoria, daughter of the wealthiest family of the city and madly in love with Giovanni, live a life of love and hate, intrigues, ancient dogmas and dreams of freedom. The Mexican War of Independence is just a few years away. (Morelia International Film Festival)
