Metal Tornado

Looking for solutions to the energy crisis a team of scientists discover a way to harvest unlimited energy from solar flares. An ex-colleague who has tested the project on his own learns, however, that unharnessed it will threaten to destroy the earth. The launch of the Helios Project sees a leak of the small percentage of the gathered solar energy and develops into a rogue magnetic vortex or metal tornado that magnetically polarizes everything within its path.
