The legend of Sawney Bean and his murderous family is savagely brought to life in this chilling modern take on the Scottish cannibal hunting and abducting victims. Half hixploitation, half detective movie that fails to work as a whole, as it lacks tension, fun and nastiness. Unremarkable carnage.

"Sawney: Human Slob" is a film that will have many opponents, but considering what the film tried to do and how it tried to do it, presenting the legend from a multi-genre perspective, the result is quite successful. This is also because it is filmed quite well and you can't feel that it was cheaply made or rushed. There is a bit of a lack of moments of real tension, truly heated situations, and at times the focus is on the effect rather than the substance, but overall, I am relatively satisfied.
