Plots(1)

The legend of Sawney Bean and his murderous family is savagely brought to life in this chilling modern take on the Scottish cannibal hunting and abducting victims. This is juxtaposed with the controversial police investigation to solve the resultant spate of missing persons. In the bleak rugged mountains where caves hold the grisly remains of travellers who have met gruesome ends at the hands of the Black Cab driver Sawney Bean, whose victims are raped, dismembered and slaughtered for the insatiable appetites of his grungy inbred clan of cannibals, a crime journalist documents the incompetency of law enforcement in solving the case while an inspector despite being hampered by the sensational news headlines is determined to bring the killers to justice. Gruesome and compelling, Sawney: Flesh of Man is not a film for the faint of heart. (Accent Film Entertainment)

English Half hixploitation, half detective movie that fails to work as a whole, as it lacks tension, fun and nastiness. Unremarkable carnage. ()

English Lord of Darkness is a film that will have many detractors, but considering what the film aimed to achieve and how it tried to do it — presenting a legend from a multi-genre perspective — the result was quite successful. That's also because it's quite well made and it doesn't feel like a cheap film made at any cost. There's a bit of a lack of moments of real tension and truly intense situations, and sometimes the focus is on having an effect, but for me, I got relative satisfaction. ()
