At a glacier camp, a young couple, Gunnar and Agla, form a part of an expedition where she serves as supervisor and he shoots a video about the expedtion. They wake up to find their co-workers gone. A sequence of very strange occurrences follows: undefined cracking sounds, screams, flashing light from an unknown source. The cause appears to be an earthquake or storm. The walkie talkies do not function and neither do the snow cats. Agla and Gunnar start losing their strength and suffer from nosebleeds.
A lost expedition member, Arnar, turns up semi-conscious. His nose bleeds and his eyes have turned white. He warns them that they must leave immediately. Arnar seems to dies. Gunnar continues to film everything as they check out the drilling tent. Arnar rises from the dead and claims „something has been brought to life". Agla and Gunnar find a very deep hole under the drilling tent. Gunnar goes down into the hole where he discovers another expedition member, Robert, near death. Gunnar is unable to save him but manages to himself back. His symptoms worsen and he loses consciousness and Agla awaits her end.
Agla is being interrogated at police headquarters, after the police have watched the footage that Gunnar shot. Agla instructs the police to call back the rescue team because it is not safe to go up to the camp. The police is curious to know how she managed to get down from the glacier with both Arnar and Gunnar nearly dead. An MD concludes that she's never seen anything like this before, Arnar and Gunnar are neither dead nor alive. (official distributor synopsis)
