Once legendary for his killing prowess, Battosai becomes a wanderer under the name of Kenshin Himura and vows never to kill again. English Historical Japanese drama in grand style. It's not a spectacle like Chinese blockbusters, but it definitely has elements of something that could be called a proper spectacle. The film definitely excels in its action scenes more than in the moments when it tries to be more chamber-like. Those action scenes are really well-crafted and truly entertaining. Fast editing, skillful acrobatics, I have to say, I enjoy this. And it also somewhat covers up the fact that the film doesn't have such a great story. ()
