You never really know who your neighbours are... They have assumed a new identity but still share the same thirst for blood. Vanquished from America where they are wanted by the law the anguished and dysfunctional family land in England where they hope to make contact with a family sympathetic to their plight. I watched The Hamiltons five years ago and I don’t remember what it was about. I watched The Thompsons less than a week ago, and I already have the same problem.

The American-British co-production of The Thompsons is not fundamentally good. This is simply a horror film with vampires that doesn't come up with anything fundamentally interesting, only a slightly grittier battle between two vampire families. But it could have been a hell of a lot grittier in that regard, too. It's almost reminiscent of Twilight, except that it wants to be more adult. And it also looks less rosy.
