Straight-to-video third instalment of the animated children's comedies. Boog, feeling let down by his friends who are all busy with their families, decides to run away with a Russian travelling circus. There he makes some interesting new friends and falls in love with Ursa, a Russian-born grizzly bear. But when Boog's friends discover that he has dropped out of their circle, they mount a rescue mission to bring him home and show him just how much he matters to them. The series lost most of what I loved so much about the first Open Season somewhere around the middle of the second one. The third film capped off the sad mess with an extremely boring story and much cheaper looking animation. ()
Why it's still called Open Season is hard to say anymore, but it's clear it's due to the characters. Characters that are no longer even remotely funny and just show that for creating an animated feature film, you don't need a good script, just inertia. If there's going to be a fifth film, then anything is possible. ()
