Otonashi Yuzuru has one memory: he died. He's stuck in a high school of the afterlife, his own surreal purgatory with two choices: give up his connection to life and submit to his fate... or fight against God! If he chooses the latter option, the Shinda Sekai Sensen (SSS) is here to help - they're here to see that your untimely death is avenged. One problem though: Angel, the president of the school council. Throw in an all-girl rock band called Girl's Dead Monster, buckets of blacker than black comedy, more weapons than you can handle and you're only half-way to heaven... but you've still gotta get through hell! English Actually it never even occurred to me to give this a full rating while I was watching it, and after the weaker penultimate episode I wouldn't have dreamed of it, but the last episode kind of saved it; as I watched it I felt like I simply couldn't give it "only" 4 stars for an entire work of this quality, but at the same time 5 stars seemed too much. In the end I have a soft heart, as you can see. I really liked the opening and ending themes, I kept letting them play out each time, and a lot of times the ending just reinforced the feel of the episode I had just watched. I both laughed and cried at this anime. I read somewhere that the jokes were repetitive and you couldn't laugh at them anymore; yes, they were repetitive, but I still didn't find them annoying, they just kind of fit. I can't complain about the story either, it suited me just fine. Well, you definitely can’t go wrong spending the 5 and a half hours on it. I don't regret that time and I will definitely watch some of the episodes again. A weaker 5 stars. ()
