The movie follows idealistic American Robert Jordan (Gary Cooper, High Noon) as he travels abroad to join up with the guerrilla forces and fight in the Spanish Civil War. Tasked with blowing up a bridge behind enemy lines, Jordan is distracted by partisan María (Academy Award® winner Ingrid Bergman, Gaslight) at base camp, who catches his eye and his heart. As Jordan's love for María grows, he not only begins to question his assignment and his politics, but also his place in this foreign war far from home. (Umbrella Entertainment)

English I said to myself that it would be quite nice to see this primarily literary classic filmed. I managed to do it in the end, and I must say that this film is carried not by its source and the presented story, but by the actors who brought it to life. Gary Cooper and Ingrid Bergman fit very well. ()
