Happily married for twenty years, Hélène Severac admits to her husband that she's fallen for the young Dr. Aubertin. Jean Severac refuses to divorce her but gets Aubertin appointed to an important post. When Jean is poisoned to death, Dr. Aubertin immediately suspects Hélène. In fact it was Jean who killed himself by ingesting small quantities of arsenic, in order to incriminate the two lovers. (official distributor synopsis)
