Andy Stitzer (Steve Carell) is a 40-year-old geek who works in an electronics store and seems content with his life and with his collection of comic books and action figures. But when his co-workers find out that Andy is still a virgin, they decide to set him up with a woman so he can finally have sex. After some horrendous dates, Andy meets single-mother Trish (Catherine Keener), a woman who genuinely seems to like him and who has just come out of a destructive relationship. But what Andy's friends don't know is that Trish isn't quite ready for a physical relationship with him yet, and that he's going to have to wait a bit longer before he can lose his virginity. English Some gags are hilarious (1 minute later), some completely out of place. On the second try, Carell is much more bearable, and most actors are more beloved (Rogen, Banks, and Jane Lynch) and the whole plot is more pleasant. Maybe it's because of the comparison with "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" or "Superbad" and therefore the final appreciation, but when strange films become surprising personal favorites, I appreciate them even more. English Because of the (as always) brilliant Steve Carell and the (utterly) charming Catherine Keener, I'm able to forgive this film for being so dirty. I laughed, I had fun, I thanked the filmmakers for restraining themselves (except for two short scenes with bodily fluids) in what they show the viewer... And when the film ended, I almost couldn't believe it lasted over two hours. ()
