English A couple of great and unforgettable gags most of the time hidden under a comedy average which unfortunately precariously too often slides to the very brink of embarrassing lameness. Overall the weaker moments are saved by the completely disarming “man in tights" Cary Elwes who, for the first time since The Princess Bride, affirms his talent for comedy. But what I expect from Brooks is a bit more than just a trivial parody. ()

English A classic example of a crazy parody where unique moments alternate with slightly weaker ones. But because there are hardly any lame jokes, because Mel Brooks plays another one of his unforgettable characters, and because It made me laugh endlessly while parodying The Godfather, the film gets a well-deserved 4*.
