Quadripeligic ex-cop Lincoln Rhyme was looking forward to his assisted suicide when he got the news: some sicko was abducting people in a taxi and leaving them to die in particularly sadistic ways. With time counting down between each abduction and possible death, Rhyme recruits rather-unwilling Amelia Donaghy, haunted by her cop father's suicide and thinking she's next, into working the crime scenes to track down the killer. English My disappointment with The Bone Collector was directly proportional to the expectation that the cast and the source material aroused in me. Objectively speaking, it deserves only 2 stars, but the film really didn't click with me in the movie theater. It wasn't bad enough to be considered a parody, but it wasn't good enough to captivate and satisfy. Denzel Washington gave a very dull performance, one of the weakest in his career, and the screenplay was just a weak adaptation of the book. The movie vaguely reminded me of a parody of the modern-day Sherlock Holmes. If I saw it again, perhaps I would slightly raise my rating, but as it is, my overall rating remains at 25%. The title of the film evokes association with Kiss the Girls, but that film is in a completely different league. ()

English A solid detective thriller from the times when Angelina was still breaking through and trying to act. The bookish twist perhaps suits the book better, but works in the movie too. Quadriplegic Denzel rocks, even though he only has his mouth to act with. I didn’t like the overly sweet ending. ()

English Denzel Washington has nothing to play with, so at least he grits his teeth and sweats. The story is nothing but cliché, and if it wasn’t for the beauty of Angelina, there would be nothing to watch. ()
