Five months after D-Day, most American soldiers think the German army is broken. The Germans think otherwise. In order to buy time to fill the skies with their invincible new jets, they launch one furious offensive. For this epic recreation of one of World War 2's most crucial confrontations, director Ken Annakin captures the explosive action of massive forces squaring off and the individual ingenuity of weary GIs trying to survive a cruel winter. The cast is a starry juggernaut: Henry Fonda, Robert Shaw, Robert Ryan, Charles Bronson, Telly Savalas and more. Experience the vast panorama of war in all its intensity and all its heroism. English It wouldn't have been such a bad film if it wasn't such a bad film. The running time was excruciating. I wouldn’t have minded if there was something worth watching, but the film was riddled with goofs. Sure, I understand that you probably couldn't get German tanks in 1965, especially PzKpfw VI B, but I don't believe that the Americans couldn't find a couple of Shermans. The writers didn't bother with historical accuracy, which makes this film absolutely incomparable to Battle of Britain which came out only two years earlier and is infinitely better. ()
