The first screen adventure for Benji, that oh-so-loveable mutt with an iron will and a heart of gold. Here, the mischievous pooch sets out to save two kidnapped kids -- and finds love with a fetching female canine along the way. Can Benji save the youngsters before it's too late? In the case of this film, nostalgia was simply not enough. It surprised me how much there are scenes where you just watch a dog walking or running somewhere, accompanied by incredibly dull music. After a few minutes, it starts to become unpleasant. Otherwise, of course, it all ends very nicely. ()
