Plots(1)
When her father is murdered by outlaw Tom Chaney (Jeff Corey), 14-year-old Mattie Ross (Kim Darby) attempts to track down the killer. After hearing of his fearsome reputation, Mattie goes to ageing U.S. Marshall Rooster Cogburn (John Wayne) for help and convinces him to assist with her quest. Along the way, the pair are joined by La Boeuf (Glen Campbell), a Texas Ranger hoping to collect the reward on another of Chaney's murders, and together the trio travel from Fort Worth, across the wilderness, and deep into Native American territory in pursuit of their man.
