Phil Alden Robinson's Field of Dreams is a mesmerizing tale of resilience, faith and conviction. Inspired by a voice he can't ignore to pursue a dream he can hardly believe, struggling Iowa corn farmer Ray Kinsella (Kevin Costner) faces one of the most challenging dilemmas of his life. Haunted by echoes of the past, the message is an instruction to build a baseball field on his farm. Fulfilling the unusual request, Ray is visited by the ghosts of ‘Shoeless’ Joe Jackson (Ray Liotta) and the other seven Chicago White Sox players banned from the game for throwing the 1919 World Series. As the voices continue to stir Ray's imagination, he seeks out reclusive author Terence Mann (James Earl Jones) to help him understand the meaning his quest and discover the purpose for his remarkable field.
