Varsa engineer receives the Kossuth award for his excellent work. His career once began at the family enterprise of his wife, so the woman invites her relatives for a dinner party. Varsa invites his kinship as well, of whom he was forced to keep distance just because of his wife. Márta is compelled to agree with the experiment of reconciliation. During the dinner the controversy erupts, it turns out how poor the noble kinship is in spirit, how much of the past is hidden and how superior are the foster mother and brothers and sisters of Varsa morally. Márta realises, that the state honour awakened the bond to his kin in her husband and if she loves him, she has to bear with it. (official distributor synopsis)
