Biography
Stanley Nelson is a chronicler of the African American experience. He is a MacArthur Fellow, was awarded an individual Peabody Award for his body of work in May of 2016, and has been honored with five Primetime Emmy Awards and the 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. In 2013, Nelson received the National Humanities Medal from President Barack Obama. He is a co-founder of Firelight Media.
