Alejandro Durán, director and scriptwriter, was born in Tarifa but found his home in Madrid. It was in Berlin however where he began his work in various creative disciplines, such as theatrical production, videoartistry, writing, and cinema; all of which he approaches from the perspective of intimacy and self affirmation. After working alongside the likes of Bruce LaBruce and Cheryl Dunne, Durán directed his first short Beastgarden and founded his first production company, Das Tier. Having returned to Spain he directed the short Sígueme (Best Spanish Short of LesGaiCineMad 2011). After a number of years working in university education, isolated from creative processes, he has returned with his most significant work yet, Grávido.
