Robert Edwards is a writer/director based in New York. His first screenplay, the political satire LAND OF THE BLIND, won a Nicholl Fellowship and became his directorial debut, starring Ralph Fiennes and Donald Sutherland. Edwards is currently collaborating with his wife and partner Ferne Pearlstein on THE LAST LAUGH, a feature documentary about taboos in humor featuring Mel Brooks and Sarah Silverman. Before becoming a filmmaker Edwards served for six years as an infantry and intelligence officer in the US Army, and was a captain in a parachute infantry regiment in Iraq during the first Gulf war.
