Biography

Hüseyin Karabey is regarded as one of Turkey’s most talented new directors. Before he made My Marlon and Brando (2008), the film that launched him to fame, and which won an award at the Tribeca Film Festival, he had filmed some important films: Boran (1999), a short film that explores the disappearances of 5,000 political activists in Turkey during the 90’s, the feature-length docudrama Silent Death (2001), and Pina Bausch Istanbul Breath (2004), a documentary about Pina Bausch, the world-famous German choreographer.
